Zelenskyy approves new long-range operations against Russia

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that some long-range operations against Russia had been adjusted, while the Ukrainian leadership has approved new ones.

The head of state reported this on August 10 following a meeting with military leadership.

According to Zelenskyy, the meeting reviewed in detail the implementation of the plan for so-called "long-range sanctions" against Russia and the use of Ukrainian medium-range systems. The president did not specify which operations had been changed or which new actions had been approved.

Zelenskyy noted that long-range capabilities allow Ukraine to maintain the initiative and increase pressure on Russia. Previously, Ukraine had already conducted a series of strikes on facilities related to Russia's military potential, and in June the president approved a separate 40-day operation by the SBU against the Russian Federation.

The meeting also discussed the situation on the front and measures to reinforce key directions. Particular attention was paid to the air defense of frontline and border cities, regional centers, and Kyiv. Zelenskyy stated that providing Ukraine with air defense systems should remain one of the top issues in cooperation with international partners.
