The dollar is rising on the interbank market and at exchange offices: the exchange rate for August 11

For Tuesday, August 11, the National Bank set the following official exchange rates: - US dollar – 44.8305 UAH (+0.0726 UAH to the official rate for Monday, August 10); - euro – 51.7815 UAH (+0.1667 UAH to the official rate for Monday, August 10).

The rates were set at 4:00 PM on August 10 and reflect the following trends:

1. Immediately after the start of trading on the interbank currency market, quotations went up. The National Bank did not resist the growth, so it continued until the end of the trading session. By the end of trading, the dollar rose to 44.892 UAH on the "bid" position. The average transaction price at 12:00 was 44.8173 UAH – 5.5 kopiyok higher than last Friday, and increased even more after lunch. Therefore, the National Bank was forced to raise the official dollar rate for Tuesday, August 11 by 7.3 kopiyok.

2. The euro on the international FOREX market on Monday corrected against the US dollar after a sharp rise last Friday. rose sharply after the release of US employment data and by 4:00 PM reached 1.1580 dollars. At the time of fixing, the euro was selling at 1.15505 – 18.5 points higher than last Friday (1.1532 dollars). Therefore, the NBU raised the official euro rate by 16.7 kopiyok.

On the cash market, the increase in price tags accelerated. Whereas on Friday evening in the capital the dollar was sold at 44.76 UAH, today by evening its price rose to 44.89 UAH. The dollar rose noticeably in other cities as well: in Kharkiv it rose by 9 kopiyok, in Dnipro and Lviv – by 12, and in Odesa – by 20 kopiyok. Such noticeable fluctuations in the price of cash dollars were triggered precisely by the growth on the interbank market.
