Rozetka cuts some staff after warehouse in Brovary destroyed
Rozetka has begun optimizing its workforce after the destruction of the company's largest automated distribution center in Brovary as a result of Russian strikes. Some employees will be transferred to other facilities, but the company cannot provide alternative work for everyone.
This was reported on August 12 by Rozetka co-founder Iryna Chechotkina in a post.
According to her, after losing the warehouse, the company is forced to accelerate changes to its business model. Rozetka plans to significantly reduce the share of its own sales and focus on the further development of the marketplace, where third-party sellers offer goods.
The cuts will affect certain departments. The company is trying to transfer the majority of employees of the destroyed facility to other warehouses or find them other work within the business, but it will not be possible to save jobs for everyone. Chechotkina did not name the exact number of people affected by the layoffs.
The warehouse processed more than 100,000 orders per day
The distribution center in Brovary was a key part of Rozetka's logistics infrastructure and processed more than 100,000 orders per day. On the night of August 5, the complex was completely destroyed in a Russian attack using ballistic missiles. The company's preliminary losses from the destruction of the facility were estimated at about $70 million.
At the time of the strike, 92 employees were on the complex's grounds. According to Chechotkina, none of them were injured: the people were in a shelter built by the company in 2022. It withstood the impact and allowed employees to remain safe during the fire.
Meanwhile, six Rozetka employees who were injured during a previous Russian drone attack on August 1 are still completing their treatment.
The company will accelerate its shift to a marketplace model
The loss of a major logistics center has forced Rozetka to revise its business structure faster than previously planned. Reducing its own sales means that the company will increasingly provide its platform and infrastructure to other sellers, rather than purchasing and storing goods for subsequent sale itself.
Despite the destruction of the distribution center, Rozetka continues to operate. The company is redistributing logistics processes among other facilities and at the same time looking for ways to recover from the losses incurred.
Rozetka remains one of the largest players in Ukrainian e-commerce. According to Forbes Ukraine, the Rozetka-EVO group achieved a turnover of 112.4 billion hryvnias in 2025, which was 9% higher than the previous year.
