Intense fighting continues on the front: General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine summary
Since the beginning of the day on August 12, 185 combat clashes have occurred on the front. The most intense fighting was recorded in the Pokrovsk, Slavyansk and Konstantinovka directions.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an operational summary as of 22:00.
Russian troops carried out 56 air strikes during the day, using 183 guided aerial bombs. 6597 kamikaze drones were also used for strikes. In addition, 1982 shellings of positions of Ukrainian units and settlements were recorded.
The Pokrovsk direction remained the most active, where Russian troops undertook 24 attacks. Combat actions took place in the areas of Novoe Shakhovo, Dorozhnoe, Udachnoe and Molodetskoe, as well as on the approaches to several other settlements. As of 22:00, one clash there was still ongoing.
In the Slavyansk direction, the Defense Forces stopped 20 attempts by Russian troops to advance. Another 17 assaults were repelled by Ukrainian units in the Konstantinovka direction. In the Gulyaypole sector, 12 attacks occurred, and in the South Slobozhansky sector, eight.
Lower intensity of fighting was recorded in the North Slobozhansky and Kursk, Liman, Kramatorsk, Aleksandrovsk, Orekhov and Pridneprovsk directions. In the Kupyansk direction, the General Staff reported one Russian attack.
At the time of publication, separate clashes in the South Slobozhansky, Slavyansk, Konstantinovka and Pokrovsk directions were still ongoing. In the remaining sectors of the front, the General Staff recorded no significant changes in the situation.
