Investors in American artificial intelligence developer Anthropic expect that the company could go public with a valuation of at least $2 trillion. If this scenario materializes, the listing of the creator of Claude could become the largest IPO in history, reports Financial Times citing six company investors.

According to their estimates, Anthropic's listing could take place as early as October. However, the company itself has not yet determined a target valuation for the IPO even in private conversations with investors. Anthropic representatives declined to comment to Financial Times on the possible offering price.

Investor expectations are primarily linked to the rapid growth of the company's business. They forecast that by the end of 2026, Anthropic's annual revenue, annualized based on the current sales pace, could reach $100–120 billion. That is more than ten times the figure at the beginning of the year.

As recently as May, Anthropic officially reported that its annualized revenue exceeded $47 billion. At that time, the company raised $65 billion in the latest investment round and received a post-money valuation of $965 billion.

Thus, a $2 trillion valuation implies a more than twofold increase in Anthropic's worth in just a few months. One investor surveyed by Financial Times believes that if the current revenue growth rates are maintained, the public market could theoretically value the company even higher.

In 2026, venture capital funds, sovereign wealth funds, and other institutional investors poured almost $100 billion into Anthropic. Among the company's major partners remain Amazon and other technology corporations investing in the development of computing infrastructure and Claude services.

IPO not yet finally confirmed

Financial Times reports that in June Anthropic filed the necessary documents with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and is currently in a period of restricted public communications ahead of the potential offering. At the same time, the timing of the IPO and the final valuation may still change.

High investor expectations do not rule out risks. Anthropic competes with OpenAI, Google, and rapidly growing Chinese AI developers. Simultaneously, corporate clients are becoming more sensitive to the cost of using the most powerful models and in some cases are switching to cheaper solutions.

The company's development pace this year was also affected by regulatory restrictions and a conflict with U.S. authorities. According to Financial Times, Anthropic's revenue growth slowed in June amid temporary export restrictions on some of its models, but then the figures accelerated again.

Investors cite Anthropic's strong position in the enterprise market as its main advantage. The company is betting on the use of Claude for programming, data analysis, and automation of workflows in large organizations.

At a $2 trillion valuation, Anthropic's potential IPO could surpass the largest previous offerings. However, this figure is currently an investor estimate, not an officially set offering price by the company.
