Forced evacuation of families with children expanded in Kharkiv region

In Kharkiv region, forced evacuation of families with children from dangerous territories is being expanded. The new decision concerns one of the hromadas of Bohodukhiv district. This was reported on August 18 by Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov.

Evacuation measures are being introduced due to the deterioration of the security situation and the ongoing threat of Russian shelling. Families with minors must be moved to safer settlements.

The Kharkiv Regional Military Administration emphasizes that during evacuation people are provided with escort. Evacuees are assisted with temporary housing, humanitarian and medical aid, document processing, and receipt of entitled benefits. If necessary, families can also relocate to other regions of Ukraine.

Bohodukhiv district is regularly subjected to Russian attacks, and the mandatory evacuation zone has been expanded several times already. In particular, in June the authorities decided to evacuate residents of Zolochiv and six other settlements in the Zolochiv direction due to systematic shelling and deterioration of the security situation.

At that time, it concerned more than 7.1 thousand residents, including about 1.7 thousand children and more than 300 people with limited mobility. Routes and temporary accommodation facilities were prepared for their evacuation.

The authorities of Kharkiv region urge residents of settlements in the evacuation zone not to delay departure. The need for evacuation can be reported through local authorities, police, and units of the State Emergency Service, as well as via the toll-free hotline 203.
