Bosch will start mass production of humanoid robots in Germany

German industrial group Bosch is preparing for mass production of humanoid robots in Germany. The company will become the contract manufacturing partner of British robotics developer Humanoid and will help move its HMND 01 robots from research prototypes to large-scale production for the European market.

The main site for the cooperation is the Bosch plant in Bühl in southwest Germany. It was there that the companies tested the HMND 01 in a real industrial environment in March 2026.

During the tests, the robot autonomously moved boxes from conveyors to transport carts. The system worked with five types of boxes of different sizes, weights, and shapes and had to adapt independently to changes in the logistics process.

After the successful completion of the tests, Bosch and Humanoid signed a manufacturing agreement. Bosch will be responsible not only for production itself, but will also help adapt the design of the robots for mass production, optimize supply chains, reliability, repairability, and cost.

For Bosch, this is effectively a transition from testing humanoid systems to their industrial scalable assembly. At the same time, this is not about Bosch's own robot: the HMND 01 is developed by British Humanoid, and the German group serves as its contract manufacturer and technology partner.

Bosch itself has recently significantly expanded its presence in robotics. The company created a separate division, Robert Bosch Robotics GmbH, which is engaged in the development and industrialization of robotic solutions.

The group also cooperates with German Neura Robotics in the field of cognitive robots and with other robotics startups in the USA, China, and Europe. Bosch estimates the potential of its robotics-related business in billions of euros.

At the same time, the company does not plan to limit itself to assembling ready-made machines. Bosch wants to supply sensors, control systems, software, and electromechanical components for robots - what the company calls the "brain and nervous system" of modern robotics.
