Ukrainians get free access to Headway's main educational apps: who will get it automatically

Headway Inc has made all five of its main educational apps free for users in Ukraine. AddMile and Skillsta have joined Headway, Impulse, and Nibble, which were already available without a subscription. However, for automatic activation there is an important condition — the user must be located in Ukraine and have the Ukrainian region in App Store or Google Play.

The company timed the expansion of free access to Ukraine's Independence Day. According to Headway Inc, its educational products are already used by more than 466,000 Ukrainians.

Previously, the company gradually opened its services to users from Ukraine. After the start of the full-scale war, Headway and Impulse became free, and later Nibble joined them. Now AddMile and Skillsta are also available without payment.

Which five apps became free

Headway is an app with summaries of non-fiction books. The key ideas of books can be read or listened to in audio format. The library includes literature on business, psychology, productivity, health, relationships, and other topics.

Impulse offers short games and exercises for training memory, attention, concentration, and logical thinking. It is currently the only one of Headway Inc's five products that is fully available in Ukrainian.

Nibble is built on the microlearning format. Users are offered short interactive lessons in mathematics, history, art, personal finance, sciences, and other subjects.

AddMile is a platform for personal and professional development. It creates personalized programs with short materials, exercises, and daily actions depending on the user's goals. The service also provides tools for working with topics of communication, emotions, relationships, self-esteem, and career development.

Skillsta is designed to develop social and communication skills. It contains short practical lessons on active listening, storytelling, body language, empathy, self-expression, concentration, and other skills.

How to get free access

According to Headway Inc, there is no need to submit an application or enter a promo code. Free access should be activated automatically after installing the app.

To do this, two conditions must be met simultaneously: the user must be located in Ukraine, and the App Store or Google Play settings must have the Ukrainian region.

If these conditions are met but the app still offers a paid subscription, the company recommends contacting the support service of the respective product.

This condition is especially important for Ukrainians who currently live abroad. Ukrainian citizenship alone does not guarantee automatic activation: the company specifies the user's location in Ukraine and the Ukrainian region of the app store. Therefore, before purchasing a regular subscription abroad, it is worth checking whether free access applies to a specific account.

Also, you should carefully review the terms within individual services. Free access to the app does not necessarily mean that any additional services within the platform, such as individual consultations with specialists, are provided without separate payment.

There is another limitation

So far, only Impulse has received full Ukrainian localization. The rest of the apps operate mostly in other languages. Headway Inc stated that they plan to add the Ukrainian language to other products in the future.

Separately, Headway offers the Essence of Ukraine collection, dedicated to Ukraine and Ukrainian authors. It includes about 30 book summaries.

Thus, the current change effectively completes the gradual opening of Headway Inc's product line for users in Ukraine: all five of the company's main educational services are now available for free.
