Zelensky appointed new HACC judges to fulfill EU conditions

President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed 11 judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court and 5 judges of the Appeals Chamber of this court, which is a step necessary to receive from 250 to 300 million euros from the EU under the Ukraine Facility program, according to Європейська правда.

Two presidential decrees on the appointments were published on the head of state's website on Friday evening.

By Decree No. 782/2026, were appointed to the High Anti-Corruption Court: Viktor Antypenko, Oksana Hutsal, Yevhen Didenko, Oleksandr Dudchenko, Vitaliia Koriahina, Vladyslava Kukhta, Mykola Pika, Lesia Skrekla, Iryna Teslenko, Oleh Khamkhodera and Marta-Mariia Yatsynina.

By Decree No. 783/2026, were appointed to the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court: Nataliia Doroshenko, Mykola Rubashchenko, Inna Smal, Olena Tanasevych and Ihor Chaikin.

In a comment to "European Pravda", the head of the HACC staff Bohdan Kryklyvenko explained that 16 of the 17 selected judges have been appointed so far because the submission for another one was formed later than everyone else.

"Another one (judge) passed all the procedures and was submitted to the OP only on August 19, so they did not have time (to prepare the decree). We believe that this will happen soon", he said.

Two more current first-instance judges successfully passed the selection to the appeals chamber of the HACC, but they are completing the consideration of current cases in the anti-corruption court, which they are already hearing. Therefore, they are not being appointed yet so that the cases do not go for re-consideration.

Three more judges, according to Kryklyvenko, are at the selection stage in the High Qualification Commission of Judges.

Kryklyvenko on social media congratulated the newly appointed judges, as well as current judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court and the Appeals Chamber of this court on the significant and long-awaited expansion of the judicial corps.

Previously, "EP" reported that Ukraine has time until about September 17 to fulfill the condition of the Ukraine Facility program regarding the appointment of anti-corruption judges, so as not to lose from 250 to 300 million euros in financing from the European Union.
