Investigation: Ex-Deputy Head of Presidential Office Mudra could have hidden multimillion-dollar assets
The investigation believes that former Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Mudra could have hidden part of her assets and had significantly more funds than the public data on her financial situation suggested.
This became known during the consideration by the High Anti-Corruption Court of the motion to impose a pre-trial restraint on Mudra. At the hearing, the prosecution referred to materials from covert investigative actions and conversations between the defendants.
According to the investigation, the total value of movable and immovable property that Mudra may possess is estimated at about 252 million UAH. The former official's financial situation is one of the arguments of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), which is asking to send her into custody with an alternative bail of 150 million UAH.
The case file also includes a recorded conversation in January 2026 between Mudra and former MP and developer Maksym Mykytas. The investigation claims that Mykytas told her he had "left" $4 million for her. Exactly where this money could have been located and who legally owned it is not specified in the published materials.
In addition, law enforcement officers recorded conversations that, in their opinion, indicate attempts to hide certain property from possible lifestyle monitoring. In particular, they discussed a Range Rover car, Mudra's actual place of residence, and other circumstances that could help establish her real financial situation.
The investigation also claims that in the spring of 2026, when the defendants were already expecting possible searches, Mudra moved a suitcase with jewelry to another location. SAPO cites these circumstances to justify the risk of concealment of property and evidence.
At the same time, the information from the recorded conversations does not by itself prove Mudra's ownership of the mentioned amounts. The final assessment of these materials must be made by the court. Mudra has previously stated that she considers the public presentation of NABU and SAPO materials a violation of the presumption of innocence and intends to defend herself using legal means.
Mudra is involved in a case related to NABU and SAPO special operations "Forrest Gump" and "Themis". Law enforcement officers are investigating the activities of an alleged criminal organization, whose members, among other things, are accused of raider seizure of assets and laundering of 150 million UAH of alleged criminal origin to post bail for a defendant in another criminal proceeding.
On August 19, President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Mudra from the position of Deputy Head of the Presidential Office. She confirmed receiving a notice of suspicion, but rejected the conclusions about her guilt.
