After drone attack on Russia, refinery catches fire, railway damaged (Updated)

In the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation on the night of August 25, after a drone attack, a fire broke out on the territory of the Afipsky oil refinery, and the adjacent Afipskaya railway station temporarily ceased operations. This was reported by Astra, citing local authorities and the Southern Transport Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation.

The first reports of explosions and fire near the Afipsky refinery began arriving from local residents around four o'clock in the morning. Later, the governor of the Krasnodar region confirmed the attack on the Seversky district and the fire on the territory of the oil refining enterprise.

Also, drone debris fell on the territory of the Afipskaya railway station of the North Caucasus Railway. According to the transport prosecutor's office, after the attack, the station's operations were halted, and delays in rolling stock occurred.

Thus, the consequences of the night attack affected two important infrastructure objects in the same area - the oil refining enterprise and the railway junction.

According to the governor of the Krasnodar region, as a result of the falling debris at the railway station, two people died and two others were injured. Also, in the village of Afipsky, at least 10 private houses were damaged, and a fire broke out in one of them.

The monitoring channel Exilenova+ published a video of the fire near the Afipsky refinery. In addition, during the night, the channel reported an attack near Novoshakhtinsk in the Rostov region. At the time of publication, there were no confirmed data on damage to industrial facilities there.

The Russian Ministry of Defense, according to Astra, claimed 148 intercepted or destroyed aerial targets during the night over the regions of the Russian Federation, as well as the waters of the Black and Azov Seas. It is impossible to independently verify these figures.
