On the morning of August 25, a US Air Force Boeing C-17A Globemaster III military transport plane landed at Moscow's Vnukovo Airport. Prior to that, the aircraft had flown to Riga from the US, but the Kremlin stated that it has no information about its arrival and does not plan any meetings with representatives of the American administration this week.

According to Flightradar24 data, it concerns a C-17A Globemaster III with registration number 07-7181, operating under callsign RCH4555.

On the morning of August 25, the plane departed Riga heading for Moscow. According to flight tracking services, the aircraft left the Latvian capital at approximately 08:50 Moscow time and landed at Vnukovo around 10:04.

The American plane arrived in Riga on August 23. Its previous point in the route was the Camp Springs area in Maryland, home to Joint Base Andrews. This airbase is used for flights of the American president and other senior officials.

However, the aircraft type itself is not a presidential plane. The C-17 Globemaster III is a heavy military transport aircraft of the US Air Force used for transporting military personnel, equipment, and cargo, and can also be involved in government and special missions.

Kremlin claims it does not know the purpose of the flight

After information about the American C-17 landing emerged, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov was asked about possible contacts with the American side.

According to him, the Kremlin has no information about the American military plane that landed in Moscow.

Peskov also stated that no meetings with representatives of the US administration are scheduled this week.

Thus, as of the time of publication, there is no official data on who was aboard the C-17, what cargo it carried, and for what purpose it arrived in Moscow. The American side has also not publicly announced a visit to Russia related to this flight.

Meanwhile, the plane's route attracted attention amid ongoing contacts between Washington and Moscow regarding Russia's war against Ukraine. However, the mere fact of the military transport aircraft's arrival does not confirm any negotiations, and the Kremlin currently denies any planned meeting with representatives of the US administration this week.
