General Staff named the hottest areas of fighting on August 26

Since the beginning of the day on August 26, 189 combat engagements have occurred on the front. Russian forces launched 60 airstrikes using 197 guided aerial bombs, employed 7,192 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,340 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements.

This is stated in the operational summary of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as of 22:00.

On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops attempted 14 times to advance toward Bilytske, Vasylivka, Serhiivka and Novopavlivka, as well as in the vicinity of Udachne.

According to preliminary data from the General Staff, 53 Russian servicemen were killed and another 17 wounded on this direction over the day. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed nine vehicles, one artillery system, four pieces of special equipment and 34 enemy shelters.

In addition, 407 Russian drones of various types were destroyed or suppressed on the Pokrovsk direction.

On the Kostyantynivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled 10 assaults near Kostyantynivka, Ilyinivka, Novoselivka and Rusyn Yar. As of 22:00, two combat engagements were ongoing.

On the South Slobozhanske direction, Russian forces attacked seven times near Prylipka, Starytsia, Synelnykove and Vovchansk. Four battles were ongoing.

On the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven enemy attempts to advance near Lyman and toward Hrekivka and Novoselivka. Three attacks were still ongoing at the time of publishing.

On the Hulyaipole direction, the Defense Forces repelled five attacks toward Vozdvyzhivka, Charivne, Novoselivka and near Bilohirya.

On the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped three attempts by Russian troops to advance toward Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka and Lukyanivske.

On the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian forces attacked three times toward Piddubne and near Rybne. Another three attempts to advance were stopped on the Sloviansk direction.

On the North Slobozhanske and Kursk directions, four combat engagements have occurred since the beginning of the day. On the Kupiansk direction, one offensive attempt was recorded toward Radkivka, and on the Kramatorsk direction, one battle was ongoing near Fedorivka Druha.

On the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy conducted no offensive actions. No significant changes occurred on other sections of the front, according to the General Staff.
