New massive attack: Russia launched about 140 drones at Ukraine
Russian troops launched about 140 strike drones at Ukraine on the morning of August 27. More than 100 of them are jet-powered drones.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The count covers the period starting from 07:00 and the ongoing Russian air attack.
Thus, the vast majority of drones used by Russia in this wave are of the jet type. Such devices are distinguished by significantly higher speed compared to conventional strike drones, which reduces the time to respond to an air threat.
The Air Force urged citizens not to ignore air raid signals and to stay in shelters during a threat. Final data on the number of air attack assets used and the results of air defense work will be published after the attack ends.
The new wave followed a massive night attack on Ukraine. On the night of August 27, Russia used 258 strike drones of various types, about a third of which were jet-powered, as well as ballistic and anti-ship missiles. The Air Force reported in the morning the destruction or suppression of 233 aerial targets.
Thus, in less than a day, Russian troops have already used hundreds of drones against Ukraine, and in the second wave the share of jet-powered devices sharply increased.
