The Pokrovsk direction remains the hottest: 32 attacks repelled in a day

Since the beginning of the day on August 31, 173 combat clashes have occurred at the front. The most intense fighting continued in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 32 Russian attacks.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an operational update as of 22:00.

Over the day, Russian forces carried out 66 airstrikes, dropping 218 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy used 6,542 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,049 shellings of populated areas and Ukrainian troop positions.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops attempted to advance near Sofiivka, Vilne, Kucherov Yar, Dorozhne, Stepy, Shevchenko, Bilytske, Vasylivka, Serhiivka, Udychnе, Muravka and Novopavlivka. Three combat clashes were ongoing at the time of publication.

According to preliminary data from the General Staff, on this direction during the day 53 Russian servicemen were eliminated and another 18 were wounded. Defense Forces destroyed two artillery systems, five vehicles, a unit of special equipment, a UAV control post and 51 enemy shelters.

Also damaged were nine artillery systems, four vehicles, four UAV control posts and 127 shelters. Ukrainian troops destroyed or suppressed 326 drones of various types.

In the Kostiantynivka direction, Defense Forces repelled 16 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Novoselivka and Pavlivka.

In the South Sloboda direction, Russian troops stormed Ukrainian positions 13 times near Starytsia, Chuhunivka, Khatnie, Mala Volcha, Dovhenke and Okhrymivka. Two more clashes were ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy attempts to advance near Novoselivka, Drobysheve, Dibrova and Stavky. In the Sloviansk direction, two attacks were stopped near Ozerne and Kryva Luka.

In the HuliaiPole direction, four Russian attacks were recorded near Kosivtseve, Vozdvyzhivka and Tsvitkove. In the Orikhiv direction, Defense Forces repelled one attack near Mala Tokmachka.

In the North Sloboda, Kursk, Kupiansk, Kramatorsk, Oleksandrivka and Prydniprovske directions, no Russian offensive activity or assault actions were recorded during the day.
