EU top diplomat Kaja Kallas suspects Russian involvement in the incident involving a drone with explosives near a Ukrainian cargo plane at Leipzig/Halle Airport last month, according to Європейська правда.

She said this before the start of an informal meeting of EU defense ministers in Wicklow, Ireland.

Kallas called for waiting for an official statement from Berlin on the incident, but made it clear that she herself has no doubt about who is to blame.

"Let's wait for what Germany says and what intelligence it has about this attack, and then we will discuss what can be done. It is clear that Russia also… I directly link it to this. But let's wait for what the Germans say about who is behind this attack", – she stated.
"After all, we have seen in other countries that Russians are resorting to more and more provocations. The question is what we will do to deter them from further actions in this direction", – Kallas added.

Media previously reported that Germany intends to publicly announce in the near future that Russian intelligence services were involved in the Leipzig incident.

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul on Tuesday promised a measured response to the discovery of a drone with explosives near a Ukrainian cargo plane at Leipzig/Halle Airport last month.

Recall that on August 4, a drone with explosives was found at Leipzig/Halle Airport near a Ukrainian Antonov cargo plane that was used to transport military cargo.
