Russia attacks Odesa TPP: some equipment damaged
As a result of Russian strikes on the Odesa TPP of the Naftogaz Group, some of the main and auxiliary equipment of the plant was damaged.
The Naftogaz Group reported this on September 1.
The company has not yet specified the extent of the damage, the list of equipment taken out of service, or the timeline for its restoration. It also did not say whether the attack affected the plant's capacity to produce heat and electricity.
The Odesa TPP is part of the Naftogaz Group and provides heat and electricity generation. Therefore, the condition of its equipment is particularly important during the preparation of energy infrastructure for the heating season.
On the night of September 1, the Odesa region was subjected to a massive combined Russian attack. According to local authorities and rescuers, energy, port and other civilian infrastructure facilities in the region were hit.
In recent weeks, Russia has repeatedly attacked energy facilities of the Naftogaz Group. In particular, on August 27, four guided bombs hit the Kherson TPP, disabling the remaining heat and power generating equipment at the plant.
