Fedorov to create his own company in the defense technology sector

Former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov, together with his team, plans to create his own company in the defense technology sector. The new project will become one of the directions of his work after leaving the government.

Fedorov announced this during a working trip to the USA, where he is holding meetings with investors, venture funds, and technology companies.

According to the ex-minister, after working on the development of the Ukrainian defense-tech ecosystem in public service, his team intends to independently engage in the creation of defense products. Fedorov has not yet revealed the name of the future company, its structure, investment volume, and specific launch dates.

The creation of the company will be part of a broader set of defense projects that Fedorov's team is currently working on. He previously announced plans to launch a new defense technology investment fund.

Fedorov emphasized that this is not a classic venture fund. It should not only invest in existing Ukrainian defense-tech companies but also independently create new enterprises around technologies needed on the battlefield.

At the initial stage, Fedorov named among the main directions of work the robotization of the battlefield, the development of high-speed reactive interceptor drones, and the creation of inexpensive missiles using artificial intelligence.

During the trip to Washington, Fedorov's team is holding negotiations with American venture funds, entrepreneurs, technology companies, and other potential partners. The goal is to attract capital and expertise for Ukrainian defense developments and bring some projects to the international level.

In an interview with the Financial Times, Fedorov also stated that he expects to attract American investment into the new fund and use Ukrainian experience in modern technological warfare to create new products. According to him, Ukraine has accumulated unique competencies in unmanned systems, robotics, and other areas that may be in demand outside the country as well.

At the same time, Fedorov states that his main focus remains working on projects capable of strengthening Ukraine's defense capability and attracting international resources for this purpose.
