General Staff confirms destruction of MiG-29 and Ka-27 helicopter in Russia

The Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed a Russian Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopter near the Yeysk airfield in Krasnodar Krai and a MiG-29 fighter jet near the Millerovo airfield in Rostov Oblast. The results of previous strikes were confirmed after analysis of additional data, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

The General Staff clarified the dates of destruction of Russian aircraft: the Ka-27 was destroyed on August 30 near the Yeysk airfield, and the MiG-29 on August 27 near the Millerovo airfield. Therefore, in the initial report, the dates of the two episodes were swapped.

The Yeysk airfield has previously been repeatedly targeted by Ukrainian strikes. It is used by Russian military aviation and is associated with the 859th Center for Combat Employment and Retraining of Naval Aviation Flight Personnel of the Russian Navy. The airfield, in particular, hosted naval aviation equipment, including helicopters of the Ka-27 family.

On August 30, the Unmanned Systems Forces also reported strikes on military infrastructure in Yeysk and Millerovo. In Yeysk, the destruction of a Pantsir-S1 system, a Sopka-2 radar station, and damage to an aviation weapons depot were claimed. In the Millerovo area, Ukrainian forces reported the destruction of RSP-27 and Nebo-SV radar systems, as well as strikes on warehouses and maintenance facilities.

At the same time, the General Staff reported new strikes on Russian military facilities on September 1 and on the night of September 2. Near Vladimirovka in Donetsk Oblast, an ammunition depot was hit, and in Ocheretyne, a logistics depot of a Russian unit was struck.

In addition, near Rechitsa in Bryansk Oblast, the Defense Forces struck a concentration point of Russian weapons and military equipment. The extent of damage to these facilities is being clarified.
