The Orlovka border crossing point on the border with Romania has resumed operation
The international ferry crossing point "Orlovka" on the Ukrainian-Romanian border resumed operation on September 2 after a Russian strike. Passenger and vehicle processing is once again being carried out as usual.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. The Ukrainian side has also informed Romanian border guards about the restoration of the crossing point's operation.
"Orlovka" temporarily stopped working after the Russian attack on the night of September 1. Russian troops used Shahed-type attack drones, and one of the strikes hit the building and territory of the crossing point.
Fires broke out after the hits, which were contained by rescuers. Due to the damage, the processing of people and vehicles was suspended, and cars were redirected to other operational crossing points.
The State Customs Service also reported that while the "Orlovka – Isaccea" crossing was closed, customs formalities were not conducted, and travelers and carriers were advised to choose alternative routes.
After restoration measures, the crossing point returned to its normal operating mode. Thus, passengers and carriers can once again use the ferry service between Ukrainian Orlovka and Romanian Isaccea.
