General Staff names the most tense front-line areas as of the evening of September 2
Since the beginning of the day on September 2, 178 combat clashes have occurred on the front line. The most intense fighting continued in the Pokrovsk and Kостянтинівське directions, where Russian troops conducted 24 and 21 attacks respectively.
This is stated in the operational summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00.
During the day, Russian troops carried out 71 air strikes, using 243 guided aerial bombs. In addition, 6,548 kamikaze drones were used for strikes, and 2,083 shelling attacks were carried out on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.
Where the most intense fighting took place
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops tried 24 times to advance near a number of populated areas. As of 22:00, one combat clash was still ongoing there.
According to preliminary data from the General Staff, 48 Russian servicemen were eliminated in this sector during the day, and another 25 were wounded. Ukrainian forces also destroyed automotive equipment, an artillery piece, a drone control point, and other enemy targets.
In addition, in the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian troops destroyed or suppressed 368 Russian drones of various types.
In the Kостянтинівське direction, the Defense Forces repelled 21 Russian assaults. The enemy carried out eight more attacks in the Kupiansk direction, five in the Lyman direction, and five in the Sloviansk direction.
In the South Sloboda direction, Russian troops attacked four times. In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped four attempts to advance, and in the Huliaipole direction — three.
In the North Sloboda and Kursk directions, Russian forces carried out five air strikes using 11 guided aerial bombs, conducted one assault attack, and carried out 60 shelling attacks during the day.
In the Oleksandrivka and Prydniprovske directions, no Russian assault actions were recorded by the evening. In other sectors of the front, according to the General Staff, no significant changes in the situation occurred.
