Kyiv will change the operation of the metro and bridges during air alerts

Kyiv will change the operating mode of the metro and traffic across the Dnipro during air threats. During the yellow level, the green metro line will operate without restrictions and will transport passengers across the Pivdennyi Bridge, while during the red level its surface section will be split. Vehicular traffic on the Pivdennyi Bridge during an alert will also be allowed, but with temporary technological closures.

This was announced by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko following the decisions of the capital's Defense Council.

The green line will operate depending on the threat level

During the yellow threat level, the Syretsko-Pecherska, or green, line of the Kyiv Metro will operate without restrictions. Trains will run along the entire line, including across the Pivdennyi Bridge between the right and left banks.

In the event of a red level being announced, traffic on the green line will be restricted. Trains will operate separately on the sections "Syrets" - "Vydubychi" and "Slavutych" - "Chervonyi Khutir".

The Sviatoshynsko-Brovarska, or red, line will continue to operate according to the current scheme: during an air threat, passengers will be transported on the underground section from "Akademmistechko" to "Arsenalna".

Surface public transport will continue to operate without restrictions. In addition, the city has already organized an additional bus route that duplicates part of the red metro line: from the "Palats Sportu" station through "Arsenalna" to "Lisova".

Traffic will be allowed on the Pivdennyi Bridge during an alert

Vehicular traffic on the Pivdennyi Bridge during an air alert will be permitted without restrictions, but the bridge is scheduled to be technologically closed for 30 minutes after the alert is announced and for another 30 minutes after it is lifted.

At the same time, directly during an air alert, access to the Pivdennyi Bridge from Saperno-Slobidska and Mykhaila Boichuka streets will be closed.

The traffic regime on the Darnytskyi Bridge, Paton Bridge, Metro Bridge, and Pivnichnyi Bridge will remain unchanged.

The Podilsko-Voskresenskyi Bridge crossing will operate with technological closures according to the same scheme - half an hour after the alert is announced and half an hour after it is lifted. In addition, a change in traffic management is planned with the introduction of a reversible scheme.

The new rules are part of changes in the capital's response system to air threats, which provides for different algorithms for the operation of urban transport depending on the level of danger.
