Fury proposed Usyk hold a third fight as early as this fall

British boxer Tyson Fury proposed that Oleksandr Usyk hold a third fight as early as November 2026. He stated that he is now looking for a new opponent, as the long-discussed fight against Anthony Joshua is under threat of falling through.

Fury addressed the Ukrainian boxer in a series of videos posted on Instagram. The Briton said that negotiations with Joshua dragged on due to disagreements over the date, venue and other conditions of the fight.

“Let's do it again. Let's repeat in November,” — Fury addressed Usyk.

He added that the “ball is now in the Ukrainian's court” and wants an answer on whether he is ready to enter the ring once more in 2026.

The fight between Fury and Joshua has long been viewed as one of the main fights of the year. The two former heavyweight champions were expected to meet in November at Madison Square Garden in New York. However, final terms were never agreed upon.

As recently as September 2, Fury claimed that his meeting with Joshua would take place in New York, although no exact date was given. A few days later, the Briton accused his opponent of not wanting to decide on terms and shifted attention to Usyk.

For Usyk and Fury, a potential fight would be their third. The Ukrainian defeated the Briton twice in 2024. In May, Usyk won by split decision and became the undisputed heavyweight champion, and in December he again proved stronger than Fury over 12 rounds.

Those defeats remain the only ones in the professional career of the Briton. After the second fight with Usyk, Fury announced his retirement, but later returned to the ring.

Usyk himself has not publicly confirmed his willingness to have a third fight with Fury in November. Therefore, for now, this is only a challenge from the Briton, not a signed fight. A report published on September 7 also noted that Fury is seeking a new opponent for November and proposed a third fight to Usyk.
