At the moment there is no final decision, but Ukraine is preparing for a potential presidential visit to the session of the UN General Assembly in September. This was stated at a briefing at the Foreign Ministry by ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi, according to Європейська правда.

Commenting on the possibility of meetings in the US, Tykhyi reminded that Zelensky's visit to New York is traditional.

"Almost every year, the President of Ukraine participates in the opening of the high-level segment of the UN General Assembly", he noted.

However, given security restrictions that usually prevent announcing the president's foreign trips in advance, the diplomat did not confirm this trip definitively.

"I can cautiously say that there are plans again this year. The Foreign Ministry is working in detail on the program, the content, the elements and the overall participation of the Ukrainian delegation in the high-level segment of the UN General Assembly, possibly with the participation of the President of Ukraine. The security situation is the only reason that forces me to speak cautiously about this", he explained.

He also confirmed that the UNGA is "one of the platforms where a meeting with US President Donald Trump could potentially take place".

As is known, on September 22, high-level debates will begin at the UN General Assembly in New York.

Earlier it was reported that Zelensky is hoping for a meeting with Trump in the second half of September.

Zelensky also said that Europe should be at the negotiating table in any format.
