Curfew to be shortened and security tightened at gas stations in Kyiv region

Starting September 10, the curfew in Kyiv region will change — it will be in effect from 01:00 to 05:00. At the same time, the authorities are introducing additional safety requirements for gas stations and are preparing to install mobile shelters at railway stations in the region.

This was reported by Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration.

According to him, the change in the curfew is related to adapting the work of authorities, businesses, and infrastructure to constant Russian attacks. When making the decision, the regional authorities also took into account the government's recommendations.

In addition, the new schedule is synchronized with Kyiv. In the capital, from September 10, the curfew will also be in effect from 01:00 to 05:00. According to Tkachenko, different restrictions in Kyiv and the region could create additional inconvenience and confusion for residents who commute daily between the capital and the suburbs.

Additional requirements to be introduced for gas stations

A separate decision concerns gas stations in Kyiv region. The authorities intend to establish systemic requirements for their operation given the threat of Russian strikes and the need to ensure the uninterrupted work of emergency services.

Gas stations must receive clear instructions on actions during air raids. There will also be an audit of warning systems and the accessibility of shelters for gas station employees and drivers.

Another requirement concerns the organization of traffic and parking on the premises of gas stations. The authorities want to eliminate chaotic accumulation of vehicles near fuel tanks.

According to Tkachenko, the organization of traffic should also ensure free access to gas stations for rescue, medical, and military vehicles in critical situations.

Mobile shelters to appear at Ukrzaliznytsia stations

In Kyiv region, the organization of installation of mobile shelters at Ukrzaliznytsia stations was also agreed upon. They are planned to be placed so as to reduce the distance passengers need to cover to reach a safe place during an air raid.

Tkachenko noted that the need for such structures is growing amid regular Russian attacks, including on passenger railway infrastructure.

The project involves several stages — coordination with Ukrzaliznytsia, adoption of necessary decisions by the Defense Council headquarters, and direct placement of shelters with the involvement of territorial communities.

The regional authorities intend to expand this practice and involve large national companies to accelerate the installation of protective structures in places of mass gathering.

Thus, from September 10, the curfew in Kyiv region will be in effect from 01:00 to 05:00, while the region simultaneously strengthens safety requirements for fuel infrastructure facilities and railway stations.
