After several waves of Russian strikes, one of DTEK's thermal power plants has completely halted generation

One of DTEK Energy's thermal power plants completely stopped generating electricity on September 8 after several waves of Russian strikes. The plant's equipment suffered serious damage.

The company DTEK Energy reported this.

According to the company, Russian forces deliberately attacked the thermal power plant several times. As a result of the strikes, the power equipment was significantly damaged, causing the plant to completely halt electricity generation.

There were no casualties among the company's employees.

After the attacks ended, plant employees began dealing with the consequences and assessing the extent of the damage. DTEK does not disclose the location of the attacked power plant and details about the damaged equipment for security reasons.

The company also did not specify the time frame for resuming generation. The possibility of restoring the plant's operation will depend on the nature of the damage and the results of equipment inspections.

Russian forces systematically attack Ukraine's energy infrastructure. DTEK's thermal power plants have repeatedly been subjected to missile and drone strikes, leading to equipment destruction and temporary shutdowns of individual power units.
