Russia strikes parking lot of 'Manufaktura' shopping center in Sumy: dead and wounded (Updated)

On the evening of September 9, the Russian army struck a parking lot near the "Manufaktura" shopping center in Sumy. Two people died: a 21-year-old man and a girl, 20 people were injured.

This was reported by the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Oleh Hryhorov, the head of the Sumy City Military Administration Serhiy Kryvosheienko, and "Suspilne Sumy".

The strike hit the area near the shopping center. As a result of the attack, cars in the parking lot and the building of the shopping center were damaged, and a fire broke out.

According to preliminary data from local authorities, three people died. It is also known about the wounded, their number and condition are being clarified.

Rescuers, medics, police and other emergency services are working at the scene. The rescue operation, firefighting and inspection of the territory continue.

Hryhorov stressed that a Russian drone struck a civilian object. The authorities also warned residents about the ongoing threat of repeated attacks and urged them not to approach the impact site.

Updated: Kryvosheienko reported that the number of injured increased to 14, including a 16-year-old teenager.

According to doctors, four of the injured are in serious condition.

Hryhorov adds that three of the injured are children.

Updated at 22:35: Later Hryhorov reported that the information about three dead was not confirmed.

The dead are a 21-year-old man and a girl.

It is also known about 20 injured. Two men and a woman are in serious condition. Another woman is in critical condition.

Among the wounded are three girls aged 15–16. Their injuries are light and of medium severity.

This is not the first attack on "Manufaktura" in September. On September 4, a Russian FPV drone also attacked the territory of the shopping center, damaging a car and the premises of the complex.
