Russia again hit the "Manufaktura" shopping mall in Sumy with a jet drone

On Thursday afternoon, September 10, Russian forces again attacked the "Manufaktura" shopping and entertainment center in Sumy. A jet drone hit the building of the shopping mall, which had been closed to visitors after the deadly strike the day before and was being restored after damage.

The explosion occurred around 14:30. The head of the Sumy City Military Administration, Serhiy Kryvosheenko, reported that the enemy delivered another strike on the shopping center in the city center.

After the hit, a fire broke out in the building. Rescuers were localizing the fire amid the ongoing threat of repeated attacks. As of 15:00, there was no information about killed or injured as a result of the new strike. The extent of damage is being clarified.

During the attack, "Manufaktura" was already closed to visitors. Employees and utility services were eliminating the consequences of the strike inflicted on the evening of September 9. The administration of the shopping mall had previously announced that the complex would not operate indefinitely due to significant damage.

The day before, around 19:44, Russian forces attacked "Manufaktura" with a jet drone. The drone hit the facade of the building above the entrance to the shopping center, near which people were at that moment. Two 21-year-old residents of Sumy were killed in the attack.

According to the latest data from the Sumy Regional Military Administration, 23 people were wounded and injured at that time, including four teenagers. Initially, the authorities reported three killed, but later the information about the third victim was not confirmed.

The September 9 strike also caused significant damage to the shopping center itself and the parking lot. Four cars caught fire, the facade and other building structures were damaged. Rescuers extinguished the fires and examined the damaged premises, after which work began on dismantling the destroyed structures and cleaning the area.

On the morning of September 10, the area near "Manufaktura" was fenced off, and the shopping center remained closed. The administration stated that the timing of its resumption of operation could not yet be determined.

This is not the first series of Russian attacks on this facility in September. At the beginning of the month, on the night of September 4, a Russian fiber-optic FPV drone also attacked "Manufaktura": then a car and the premises of the shopping center were damaged. Thus, the September 10 strike became at least the third attack on the shopping mall in a week and the second in less than a day.
