Canada allocates 350 million dollars for interceptor missiles for Ukraine

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated that the country will allocate 350 million Canadian dollars (253 US dollars) for the purchase of interceptor missiles for Ukraine's air defense, according to Європейська правда.

Carney made this statement at a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Calgary.

Carney stated that the delivery of interceptors will be carried out through the US Jump Start mechanism.

"This equipment package worth 350 million dollars will help protect the people of Ukraine, their infrastructure and airspace", – stated the Prime Minister of Canada.

In addition, Carney announced that Canada plans to increase drone production. Within two years, the country intends to reach production scales of millions of units, and Canada undertakes to transfer a third of the manufactured drones to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The head of the Canadian government also announced strengthening cooperation with Ukraine in the field of unmanned systems production.

"At the intergovernmental level, Canada and Ukraine are establishing a long-term partnership for joint production of unmanned systems, counter-drone technologies and priority ammunition, combining your combat experience with Canadian production software and artificial intelligence", – stated Carney.

As reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is on a three-day visit to Canada together with First Lady Olena Zelenska.

During the visit, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney signed a Declaration on a 100-year partnership, which envisages the intention of the two countries to elevate bilateral relations to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership.
