Factory of producer of Davidoff and West damaged in Kyiv after Russian attack
The tobacco factory of the international company Imperial Brands in Kyiv sustained significant damage as a result of the Russian attack. Production facilities and infrastructure of the enterprise were affected.
This was reported on September 10 by Imperial Brands Ukraine. According to the company, the factory was damaged during an attack by strike drones on September 8.
There were no casualties among the workers of the enterprise. Currently, together with emergency services and law enforcement, the company is assessing the scale of destruction and dealing with the consequences of the attack.
Imperial Brands has not yet reported whether the damage led to a halt in production or could affect supply of products.
On September 8, Kyiv was subjected to a series of Russian missile and drone strikes. During the day, city authorities reported, in particular, hits on warehouse and other non-residential buildings in the Holosiivskyi district.
The Kyiv factory of Imperial Brands produces cigarettes for the Ukrainian market and for export. Among the company's brands are Davidoff, West, Jade, Imperial Classic and "Prima Lux". According to Imperial Brands, in 2024, the production volume in Ukraine amounted to 9.3 billion cigarettes, and the total number of personnel was 644 people.
The company is one of the large taxpayers: in 2024, Imperial Brands enterprises transferred UAH 31.3 billion in taxes to the budgets of Ukraine, and another UAH 1.1 billion in customs payments.
This is the second time in a short period that Russian strikes have affected Imperial Brands products. After an attack on Kyiv Oblast in early August, the company reported damage to its products at distributors' warehouses and retail partners. At that time, the damage was estimated at tens of millions of hryvnias.
