European Commissioner for Defense Andrius Kubilius refuted the false claim by Russian intelligence that the European Union allegedly demands Ukraine to begin mobilization of women, according to Європейська правда.

He stated this on Friday, September 11, answering journalists' questions.

The EU does not intend to demand Ukraine to mobilize women, it is a Russian fake, the commissioner assured.

"At the moment I have no such information. I would say it would be strange if Europe tried to tell Ukrainians how to conduct mobilization, in particular mobilization of women", – said Kubilius.
"And again, I am not surprised that this comes from the Kremlin", – he added.

The day before, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, without any evidence, stated that the European Commission allegedly demands Kyiv to start mobilizing women. The Russian special service also attributed to EU High Representative Kaja Kallas words that this allegedly would be a step in the right direction.

It was previously reported that in Germany the number of men among refugees from Ukraine sharply increased over the year.

Meanwhile, the EU clarified that the decision to provide Ukrainians temporary protection in the European Union applies equally to all Ukrainians, without exceptions regarding men of conscription age.
