NBU raised the dollar exchange rate for September 15 after active interventions

On Tuesday, September 15, the National Bank set the following official rates: - US dollar – 44.6180 UAH (+0.0697 UAH to the official rate for Monday, September 14); - Euro – 51.6386 UAH (-0.1155 UAH to the official rate for Monday, September 14).

The rates are set at 16:00 on September 14 and reflect the following trends:

1. On the interbank foreign exchange market, immediately after the start of trading, quotes went up and by 12:00 reached 44.64 UAH on the "bid" position. The average price of transactions at 12:00 was 44.6148 UAH - 6.2 kopecks higher than last Friday. In the first minutes of trading, the National Bank came out with a major intervention and sold about 120-130 million dollars, which allowed to somewhat reduce the rush demand for non-cash currency. Shortly before the close of the trading session, quotes went up again, the average price increased slightly. Therefore, the NBU raised the official dollar rate for Tuesday by almost 7 kopecks.

2. The euro on the international FOREX market fell sharply on Monday and by the time of writing this article dropped to 1.1530 dollars, losing 64 points today. At the time of fixing, the euro was sold at 1.15476 dollars - 44 points lower than last Friday (1.15916 dollars). Therefore, the NBU lowered the official euro rate for Monday by another 12.6 kopecks.

Price tags for cash dollar today went up again: the cash market reacted to the growth on the interbank market. By evening in Kyiv, the dollar rose in price by 6 kopecks compared to Friday evening, in Odesa – by 7 kopecks, in Lviv – by 9, and in Kharkiv – by 10 kopecks.

The rate of both non-cash and cash dollar does not stand still: it sometimes rises, sometimes falls. At the same time, the NBU keeps it in the range of 44.40-44.80 UAH.
