The General Staff named the most active directions of Russian attacks on 15 September
Since the start of the day on 15 September, 219 combat engagements occurred at the front. Russian troops most actively attacked on the Pokrovsk direction, where the Defense Forces repelled 38 assaults.
This is stated in the operational summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00.
During the day, Russian troops carried out 68 air strikes and dropped 249 guided aerial bombs. In addition, 4,153 kamikaze drones were used for attacks. Russian forces also shelled populated areas and positions of the Ukrainian military 1,638 times.
Pokrovsk direction remains the most active
On the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 38 Russian attacks. Assault actions were recorded in the areas of Sofiivka, Priyut, Kucherov Yar, Vilne, Nove Shakhovo, Stepy, Hannivka, Novyi Donbas, Dobropillia, Bilytske, Vodyanske, Krasnopillia, Novofedorivka, Vasylivka, Serhiivka, Udachne, and Molodetske.
According to preliminary estimates by the General Staff, 66 Russian servicemen were eliminated on this sector of the front during the day, and five more were wounded.
The Defense Forces also destroyed 12 units of automotive equipment, an artillery system, five units of special equipment, a UAV control point, two ammunition depots, and 46 shelters of Russian troops.
In addition, three vehicles, three artillery systems, a unit of special equipment, eight UAV control points, and 101 shelters were damaged. Ukrainian defenders destroyed or suppressed 147 drones of various types.
Active fighting continues on several directions
On the South-Slobozhansk direction, Russian troops stormed Ukrainian positions near Lyman, Prylipka, Starytsia, Izbytske, and Mala Vovcha 15 times. As of 22:00, one more engagement was ongoing.
On the Kupiansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled two assaults in the areas of Kovsharivka and Tabaivka, and one more fight was ongoing.
On the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled six attempts to advance in the areas of Novoselivka, Drobysheve, Stavky, Lyman, and Dibrova. One more engagement was ongoing.
On the Kostiantynivka direction, eight Russian attacks were repelled near Kostiantynivka and Illinivka, as well as in the directions of Oskil, Mykolaipillia, and Novohryhorivka. Four more fights were ongoing.
On the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces stopped four attacks near Ozerne, Kryva Luka, and Mykolaivka. On the Kramatorsk direction, one Russian assault was recorded in the area of Yurkivka.
On the Huliaipole direction, seven attacks occurred in the areas of Hirske and Charivne. On the Oleksandrivka and Orikhiv directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled one attack each.
On the North-Slobozhansk, Kursk, and Prydniprovske directions, no offensive activity by Russian troops was recorded during the day.
