BEB exposed production of counterfeit Moncler and Apple worth 98 million UAH

Detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security in Lviv region exposed an organized group that, according to the investigation, produced and sold counterfeit Moncler clothing, shoes, and hats, as well as headphones and watches under the guise of Apple products. Eight people were notified of suspicion, and the damage to trademark owners is estimated at more than 98 million UAH.

This was reported by the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the scheme was organized by an entrepreneur registered in Busk, Zolochiv district. Since August 2025, he involved seven more people in the activity, including his wife and other accomplices.

The group members had assigned responsibilities. Two of the defendants organized and controlled the work of sewing workshops, where clothes were made and counterfeit Moncler tags and labels were applied.

Two others transported fabrics, accessories, and finished products between production, warehouse, and retail outlets. Another participant, according to BEB, was responsible for selling counterfeit goods through a store in Lviv.

The scheme also involved the owner of a printing house, where tags and price tags with illegally applied trademarks were produced. In addition to clothing, the group sold counterfeit headphones and watches under the guise of Apple products.

Counterfeit products were distributed not only through regular stores. BEB claims that the products were advertised and sold through Instagram, Telegram, the Prom.ua marketplace, and their own online store.

During the investigation, law enforcement officers conducted searches in two stores, a warehouse, two sewing workshops, and at the residence of the alleged organizer.

As a result, large batches of clothing, shoes, hats, headphones, and watches with signs of counterfeiting were seized. Law enforcement officers also discovered equipment and materials that, according to the investigation, were used for the production of counterfeit goods.

BEB estimates the total damage to trademark owners at more than 98 million UAH.

Eight members of the group were notified of suspicion of illegal use of trademarks for goods and services, committed by an organized group and causing material damage. The organizer is additionally charged with an episode related to the sale of counterfeit electronics.

Procedural supervision is carried out by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office. Border guards and cyber police officers also participated in the operation. The guilt of the suspects must be established by the court.
