Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions over 200 times in a day
Since the start of the day on September 16, 208 combat clashes have occurred on the front. The most intense fighting was recorded in the Pokrovsk and Konstantinovka directions, where Russian forces launched 27 and 22 attacks, respectively.
This is stated in the operational summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00.
Over the day, Russian troops carried out 71 airstrikes, using 233 guided aerial bombs. In addition, 4,704 kamikaze drones were used for strikes, and 1,250 shelling incidents targeted Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Defense Forces stopped 27 attacks in the areas of Kucherovo Yar, Volnoye, Novoye Shakhovo, Toretskoye, Annovka, Novy Donbass, Dorozhnoye, Dobropolye, Pokrovsk, Sergeyevka, Udachnoye, and Molodetskoye.
According to preliminary data from the General Staff, Ukrainian troops eliminated 57 Russian servicemen in this sector during the day, and another 12 were wounded. It also reported the destruction of seven vehicles, four pieces of special equipment, a drone control point, an ammunition depot, and 39 shelters.
Additionally, in the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian forces destroyed or suppressed 171 drones of various types. Two artillery systems, another drone control point, seven vehicles, and 99 shelters were damaged.
In the Konstantinovka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 22 attacks in the areas of Konstantinovka, Ilyinovka, Dolgaya Balka, Roskoshnoye, and Toretskoye, as well as in the directions of Nikolaipolye, Pavlovka, Novogrigorovka, and Kucherovo Yar.
In the South Slobozhanshchina direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions 12 times, and three more clashes were ongoing at the time the summary was published. In the Liman direction, six attempts to advance were repelled.
In the Gulyaypole direction, three attacks were recorded; in the North Slobozhanshchina and Kursk, Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, and Aleksandrovka directions, two each. In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled one attack.
No assault actions by Russian troops were recorded in the Orekhov and Dnieper directions during the day. In other sectors of the front, according to the General Staff, no significant changes in the situation occurred.
