Russian troops intensified on several front directions at once

Since the beginning of the day on September 17, 207 combat engagements have occurred at the front. Russian troops attacked most actively on the Pokrovsk, Konstantinovka, and South Slobozhansky directions.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an operational summary as of 22:00.

During the day, Russian troops delivered one missile strike and 68 air strikes, using 201 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they used 5,927 kamikaze drones for attacks and carried out 2,113 shellings of positions of Ukrainian military and settlements.

The most intense fighting continued on the Pokrovsk direction. Russian troops attempted to advance 21 times in the direction of Annovka, Dobropillia, Novyi Donbass, Novohryshyne, Vasylivka, Serhiivka, Molodetske, and Novopavlivka. As of 22:00, two more combat engagements were ongoing.

According to preliminary data from the General Staff, Ukrainian forces eliminated 46 Russian soldiers and wounded seven more on this sector during the day. The destruction of six vehicles, an artillery piece, six units of special equipment, and five shelters was also reported. Additionally, the Defense Forces destroyed or suppressed 164 Russian drones of various types.

On the Konstantinovka direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 15 attacks near Konstantinovka and in the directions of Osykove, Dolha Balka, Pryiut, Stepy, and Vilne.

Another 12 attacks were recorded on the South Slobozhansky direction – in the directions of Buhayivka, Kozacha Lopan, Lyman, Prylipka, Ternova, Karayichne, Potykhonove, and Zakharivka. Six combat engagements were ongoing there at the time of publication.

On the Lyman direction, Russian troops attempted to advance ten times in the areas of Kopanky, Hrekivka, Shyikivka, Novoselivka, Lyman, and Dibrova. Three attacks were ongoing. On the Hulyaipole direction, Ukrainian forces repelled five assaults, on the Sloviansk direction – four, on the Kupiansk and Orikhiv directions – three each, on the Kramatorsk direction – two.

On the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian forces attacked in the direction of Novogeorgiyivka, and on the North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, one assault attempt was recorded. On the Prydniprovsky direction, there were no offensive actions.
