Russia has increased pressure on the Pokrovsk direction: dozens of attacks repelled in a day
Since the beginning of the day on September 18, 176 combat clashes have occurred on the front. Russian troops carried out 57 air strikes, dropping 192 guided aerial bombs, used 5814 kamikaze drones and carried out 2020 shelling of Ukrainian positions and settlements.
This is stated in the operational summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00.
One of the most intense sectors of the front remained the Pokrovsk direction. Defense forces repelled 23 Russian attacks in the areas of Kucherov Yar, Toretsk, Dobropillia, Bilytske, Annivka, Svitlе, Krasnopodillia, Novohrodivka, Serhiivka, Udachne and Novopavlivka. As of the time of publication of the summary, one more battle was ongoing.
Dozens of Russian military personnel and equipment destroyed in the Pokrovsk direction
According to preliminary data from the General Staff, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 44 Russian servicemen and wounded another 22 in the Pokrovsk direction over the day.
Also destroyed were two units of motor vehicles, one artillery system, one multiple launch rocket system, eight units of special equipment, five drone control points, two ammunition depots and 47 shelters of Russian troops.
In addition, Ukrainian units damaged six vehicles, nine artillery systems, two units of special equipment, two UAV control points and 145 shelters. Over the day, 241 drones of various types were destroyed or suppressed on this sector of the front.
13 assaults repelled in the Kostiantynivka direction
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Defense Forces stopped 13 Russian attacks in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Osiyove, Novoselivka, Stepanivka and Mykolaipillia. Two more battles continued.
In the South-Sloboda direction, Russian troops stormed Ukrainian positions seven times near Ternova, Starytsia, Shyroke, Mykolaivka and Zarubynka. Three more battles were not completed as of the summary time.
In the Huliaipole direction, ten Russian attacks were recorded near Horke, Rivne, Vozdvyzhivka, Verkhnia Tersa, Huliaipole and Novoselivka.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian units repelled two assaults near Petropavlivka, Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi and Novoosinove, one more battle continued.
In the Lyman direction, Defense Forces stopped three attempts of Russian advancement in the areas of Nadiia, Novoselivka and Torske. One more clash continued.
In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three attacks near Yampil and Kryva Luka, one more attack was ongoing. In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian troops attacked once in the area of Yurkivka.
In the Orikhiv direction, Defense Forces repelled one attack near Mali Shcherbaky.
Russia did not conduct assaults in several directions
In the North-Sloboda and Kursk directions, no offensive activity by Russian troops was recorded during the day. The enemy also did not undertake offensive actions in the Oleksandrivka and Prydniprovske directions.
The General Staff noted that no significant changes in the operational situation occurred on other sectors of the front.
