President of Latvia: Europe will not be able to repel a missile attack

Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs says that drone warfare in Ukraine is developing "at lightning speed" and that measures being taken to prepare for aerial warfare may already be outdated by next year, according to Українська правда.

Details: Rinkēvičs warned that Europe is failing to keep pace with the development of drone technology and aerial warfare in Ukraine. He also stressed that most NATO countries would be unable to repel a Russian missile attack if the conflict were to expand.

"We see that air defence, counter-drone and missile defence systems face serious problems. And let's be frank. Ukraine has these problems. All of Europe and NATO have these problems", he said.

According to the president, if Russia decided to launch several missiles at European territory, "for many countries today this would be a serious challenge that would be difficult to deal with."

As previously reported, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that intelligence data pointed to Russian "plans for hybrid attacks" against countries supporting Ukraine.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys said that his country also had information indicating that Russia was preparing hybrid attacks against Ukraine's allies.
