Former Prosecutor General Kravchenko submitted his resignation
Former Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko has submitted a resignation letter from the prosecutor's office. This was announced by the spokesperson of the Prosecutor General's Office, Mariana Haivska, in a comment to journalists, according to Українська правда.

After his dismissal from the post of Prosecutor General, in accordance with the Law of Ukraine 'On the Prosecutor's Office', he continued to retain the status of prosecutor of the Prosecutor General's Office.
Upon completion of the business trip, Ruslan Kravchenko, as a prosecutor of the PGO, did not return to perform his official duties.
Under these circumstances, his submitted letter provides a legal basis to dismiss him from the prosecutor's office as quickly as possible".
On Monday, the acting Prosecutor General signed an order dismissing Ruslan Kravchenko.
According to UP sources, as of September 21, Kravchenko has not crossed the border of Ukraine for entry.
The prosecutor's office also noted that other forms of dismissal of Kravchenko would have required a lengthy procedure in the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors, while he would have formally remained a PGO prosecutor, so the PGO decided to respond to his resignation letter.
Background:
- On September 7, Ruslan Kravchenko, amid the NABU and SAPO investigation into the 'protection' of call centers, submitted his resignation from the post of Prosecutor General.
- At the same time, on September 14, he said that he had signed a notice of suspicion against NABU director Semen Kryvonos and accused NABU and SAPO of seizing materials from proceedings against their employees during searches as part of the 'Carthage' special operation in order to suspend procedural decisions in these cases.
- Sources of 'Ukrainian Pravda' in law enforcement agencies reported that Kravchenko left the country on the night of September 14 in an official car.
- The Prosecutor General also announced that he had gone on a business trip. According to the order signed by Kravchenko, he went to Paris for 5 days allegedly 'to participate in PACE hearings on Ukrainian children'. However, according to the agenda of these hearings under the auspices of PACE, Kravchenko was not listed among the participants of the discussion.
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked the parliament to urgently support the resignation of Prosecutor General Kravchenko.
- On September 14, Zelenskyy suspended Kravchenko from the post of Prosecutor General, and the Verkhovna Rada later approved his dismissal from the post.
- As of September 21, Kravchenko, whose foreign business trip ended on September 18, has not returned to work.
