General Staff: Russia intensified attacks on Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka directions
Since the beginning of the day on September 21, there have been 197 combat engagements on the front. Russian forces carried out 50 airstrikes, dropping 168 guided aerial bombs, used 6137 kamikaze drones and conducted 1930 shellings of settlements and positions of Ukrainian military.
This is stated in the operational report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00.
The highest intensity of fighting remained on the Pokrovsk direction. Defense forces repelled 23 Russian attacks in the areas of Toretsk, Sofiivka, Dobropillia, Novyi Donbas, Vilne, Bilytske, Hannivka, Krasnopillia, Vodiane, Dorozhne, Vasylivka, Myrne, Serhiivka and Novopavlivka. Three more engagements were ongoing at the time of publication of the report.
According to preliminary data from the General Staff, 40 Russian servicemen were eliminated in this direction during the day, and 14 were wounded. Ukrainian forces destroyed two units of automotive and two units of special equipment, a drone control point, and 55 enemy shelters.
In addition, two vehicles, six artillery systems, two units of special equipment, seven UAV control points and 178 shelters were damaged. The General Staff also reported the destruction or suppression of 103 Russian drones of various types.
On the Kostiantynivka direction, Ukrainian military repelled 14 assaults in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Novoselivka, Illinivka, Dovha Balka, Rozkishne and Novopavlivka. One more battle was ongoing.
On the Huliaipole direction, Russian troops attacked ten times in the areas of Rozhdestvenka, Ternuvate and Kopani.
On the South Sloboda direction, seven Russian assaults were recorded near Kozacha Lopan, Lyman, Symynivka, Rybalchyno and Zarubynka. Two more engagements continued in the evening.
On the Sloviansk direction, Defense Forces stopped three attacks near Ozerne, Mykolaivka and Rai-Oleksandrivka. On the Lyman direction, two attempts to advance Russian troops in the areas of Shyykivka, Novoselivka and Derylove were repelled, one more battle continued.
On the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian military repelled two attacks near Pavlivka, on the Kupiansk direction — one assault near Kovsharivka. Another Russian attack occurred on the Kramatorsk direction near Fedorivka Druha.
On the North Sloboda, Kursk, Oleksandrivka and Prydniprovia directions, no offensive activity by Russian troops was recorded during the day.
