General Staff: Russian troops conducted dozens of assaults in eastern Ukraine

Since the start of the day on September 22, 134 combat clashes have occurred at the front. The most intense fighting continued on the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka axes.

This is stated in the evening summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00.

During the day, Russian troops launched one missile strike and 53 air strikes, using 191 guided aerial bombs. In addition, 5,378 kamikaze drones were used for attacks. The Russian army shelled populated areas and positions of the Ukrainian military 1,999 times.

The highest intensity of attacks was recorded on the Pokrovsk axis. Defense forces repelled 21 assaults in the areas of Novyi Donbas, Bilytske, Novohryshyne, Vodyane, Molodetske, Muravka, Myrne, Serhiivka, Novopidhorodne, and Novopavlivka. Another combat clash was ongoing at the time of publication of the summary.

According to the preliminary assessment of the General Staff, 38 Russian servicemen were eliminated on this sector during the day, and eight more were wounded. Ukrainian forces destroyed a vehicle, 11 units of special equipment and one shelter, and also destroyed or suppressed 46 drones of various types.

Defense forces repelled 19 more Russian assaults on the Kostiantynivka axis — in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Novoselivka, Rozkishne, Novopavlivka, Kucherovyi Yar, and Vilne. One battle was ongoing.

On the South Sloboda axis, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions 12 times near Starytsia, Hrafske, Lyman, and toward Malyi Burluk, Putnykove, and Radkivka.

On the North Sloboda and Kursk axes, two assault attacks were recorded. Russia also carried out two air strikes here using five guided aerial bombs and conducted 101 shellings, eight of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.

On the Lyman axis, Ukrainian soldiers repelled two attempts to advance near Novoselivka; on the Kupiansk axis, one attack toward Borova. One Russian assault was recorded on the Sloviansk and Kramatorsk axes each.

On the Oleksandrivka axis, Defense forces repelled two attacks, and three more assaults occurred on the Huliaipole axis. No Russian assault actions were recorded on the Orikhiv and Dnipro axes during the day.
