Turkish manufacturer considers investments of up to $200 million in a plant in Kyiv region

Turkish energy equipment manufacturer ASTOR Enerji A.Ş. is considering investing up to $200 million in the creation of a production complex in the Kyiv region. The Kyiv Regional State Administration and the company signed a memorandum of cooperation during the Carpathian Summit.

The future enterprise is planned to be focused on the production of energy storage systems, batteries, electrical and transformer equipment.

At the same time, it is currently about potential investments: the memorandum does not mean that ASTOR Enerji has already approved the investment of the entire stated amount or started construction.

The Regional Development Agency of the Kyiv region is to support the project in the next stages. Among the planned steps are the search for possible sites for the enterprise, negotiations with territorial communities, and coordination of further work with the investor.

The Kyiv Regional State Administration expects that if the project is implemented, it will create new production capacities and jobs, as well as contribute to the development of related enterprises in the region.

ASTOR Enerji specializes in the production of power and distribution transformers, high-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear, and integrated solutions for the electric power industry. According to the company, its products are supplied to more than 100 countries. In the first quarter of 2026, foreign sales accounted for about 45% of the company's revenue.

ASTOR Enerji already has a large contract directly related to the Ukrainian energy sector. On August 31, the company announced the signing of three agreements with a US company for the supply of power transformers of various capacities to Ukraine - up to 400 MVA and voltage up to 330 kV.

The total value of these contracts is $97.965 million. ASTOR Enerji noted that this amount corresponds to approximately 7.48% of the company's revenue for 2025.

Thus, the possible construction of a plant in the Kyiv region may become the next stage of the Turkish company's work in the Ukrainian market - not only through the supply of ready-made equipment, but also through local production.
