Fighting intensity on the front has sharply increased: 242 clashes in a day

Since the beginning of the day on September 23, 242 combat clashes have occurred on the front. The most intense fighting took place in the Konstantinovka direction, where Russian troops launched 30 assaults.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in an operational update as of 22:00.

According to the General Staff, over the day the Russian army carried out 59 airstrikes using 190 guided aerial bombs, deployed 4,185 kamikaze drones for attacks, and conducted 1,801 shellings of positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.

In the Konstantinovka direction, the Defense Forces repelled attacks near Konstantinovka, as well as in the directions of Ivanopolye, Novosyolovka, Nikolaipolye, Stepanovka, Novopavlovka, Raiskoye, Toretskoye, Volnoye, and Stepov. As of 22:00, five attacks there were still ongoing.

In the Liman direction, Russian troops tried 13 times to advance near Novosyolovka, Drobyshevo, Liman, Maslyakovka, and Dibrova. Four combat engagements were ongoing. In the Pokrovsk direction, 12 attacks were recorded towards Svetloye, Novy Donbass, Belitskoye, Novogrishino, Gulevoye, Sergeyevka, Molodetskoye, Muravka, and Novopavlovka.

According to preliminary estimates by the Ukrainian command, in the Pokrovsk direction over the day, 69 Russian servicemen were eliminated, and 17 were wounded. The General Staff also reported the destruction of seven vehicles, a gun, a fuel and lubricants warehouse, four drone control points, and other equipment and infrastructure. These data are an assessment by the Ukrainian side and have not been independently confirmed.

In the South Slobozhansk direction, Russian units attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops eight times; in the Gulyaypole direction, the Defense Forces repelled four attacks; and in the Orekhov direction, five attempts to advance were recorded. Combat operations also continued in the Kupyansk, Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, and Dnieper directions.

In the North Slobozhansk and Kursk directions, the General Staff recorded five Russian assaults. Russian forces there also carried out an airstrike using three guided aerial bombs and conducted 39 shellings, two of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.

In other directions, no significant changes in the situation were recorded by the Ukrainian command by the evening of September 23.
