In Kyiv, the number of victims of Russian attacks has increased, one woman killed

In Kyiv, the number of people injured as a result of Russian attacks on September 28 has increased to 24. One woman was killed.

This was reported by the capital's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, in his Telegram channel.

Throughout the day, information about the consequences of the strikes was updated several times. Previously, city authorities reported 19 injured, including three children. Six wounded, including two children, were hospitalized. Later, the total number of injured rose to 24 people.

One of the most serious episodes of the attack was a Russian strike on the building of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the Shevchenkivskyi district. A fire broke out there. According to the SES, one woman was killed and six others were injured. Rescuers brought two people down from the third floor of the building using a ladder.

A Russian drone also hit a medical center in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. Eight people were injured there, and one person was rescued by SES staff.

On September 28, Russia massively used attack drones against Ukraine, a significant portion of which were aimed at Kyiv and the Kyiv region. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, from 06:30 to 18:30, 124 attack UAVs of various types were recorded, including 86 jet-powered ones. Air defense forces shot down or suppressed 86 drones, of which 49 were jet-powered.

Hits by air attack means were recorded at 27 locations, and debris from downed targets fell in four more places.
