Nvidia increased its share repurchase program by $150 billion at once. After the board of directors' decision, the total available amount of the program grew to $235 billion.

Nvidia reported this. The company called it the largest increase in authorized share repurchase amount in history. Nvidia plans to implement the rest of the program by the end of fiscal 2028.

Buyback means the company buys its own shares on the market, reducing the number of shares in circulation and returning part of the accumulated funds to shareholders.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang linked the decision to the rapid development of artificial intelligence and accelerated computing. According to him, significant cash flows allow the company to simultaneously invest in new technologies and return capital to shareholders.

The decision was made against the backdrop of Nvidia's sharp business growth due to the global construction of AI infrastructure. In the second quarter of fiscal 2027, the company's revenue reached a record $96.2 billion — 106% more than a year earlier. Net profit was $59.7 billion.

In just this quarter, Nvidia returned about $26 billion to shareholders through share buybacks and dividends. As of the end of July, within the then buyback program, about $99 billion remained.

The new authorization of $150 billion does not mean a one-time purchase of shares for the entire amount: the company obtained the right to conduct the buyback gradually within the set limit.
