General Staff names the most tense front lines as of September 29
Since the beginning of the day on September 29, 189 combat engagements have occurred on the front. Russian troops were most active on the Konstantinovka and Pokrovsk directions.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an operational update as of 22:00.
Over the day, the Russian army launched one missile strike and 46 air strikes, using 172 guided aerial bombs. In addition, according to the General Staff, 5,763 kamikaze drones were used for strikes, and Ukrainian troop positions and populated areas came under 1,938 shellings.
The most intense ground battles were recorded on the Konstantinovka direction. Defense forces repelled 20 Russian assaults in the area of Konstantinovka, and also in the directions of Alekseevo-Druzhkovka, Novosyolovka, Roskoshnoe, Stepanovka, Toretskoe, Volnoe, and Kucherov Yar.
Another 14 attacks were carried out by Russian troops on the Pokrovsk direction. They tried to advance toward Svetloye, Krasnopolye, Novogishino, Kucherov Yar, Sergeevka, and Molodetskoe. As of 22:00, two battles were ongoing there.
According to preliminary data from the Ukrainian command, on the Pokrovsk direction, 26 Russian servicemen were killed, and three more were wounded. The defense forces also destroyed a special vehicle and three shelters, damaged a car and 48 personnel shelters. In addition, Ukrainian units destroyed or suppressed 174 drones of various types.
On the Liman direction, Ukrainian military repelled seven attempts by Russian units to advance in the areas of Shiykovka, Novosyolovka, Zarechnoye, Drobyshevo, and Dibrova. One battle was ongoing at the time of the report's publication.
On the South Sloboda direction, Russian troops attacked five times toward Staritsa, Okhrimovka, Malaya Volchya, and Olkhovatka. Another four attempts to advance were recorded on the Slavyansk direction.
On the Orekhov direction, Russian units attempted three times to advance toward Zarechnoye and Pavlovka. Individual attacks by the General Staff were also recorded on the Kupyansk, Aleksandrovka, and Gulyaypole directions.
On the North Sloboda and Kursk directions, one assault attack occurred. Russian troops also used four guided aerial bombs and conducted 45 shellings, four of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.
On the Kramatorsk and Dnieper directions, no Russian assault actions were recorded during the day. On the remaining front lines, according to the General Staff's assessment, there were no significant changes in the situation.
