Part of Sumy left without power after Russian strike: six wounded

Part of Sumy was left without electricity after another Russian airstrike on the city on September 30. Power engineers are carrying out emergency restoration work and trying to restore electricity supply to consumers.

Sumyoblenergo reported the emergency power outage. The company said the cause of the outages was a Russian attack. Specialists are working to restore power distribution.

Russian forces struck Sumy at around 15:00. According to Serhiy Kryvosheenko, head of the Sumy City Military Administration, three guided aerial bombs were used in the attack.

Strikes were recorded in three different locations in the city. Damage was sustained by city infrastructure facilities, private residential buildings and a civilian industrial enterprise. For security reasons, authorities do not disclose additional details about the damaged infrastructure.

As a result of the attack, six people were injured. All the victims were in a private residential sector. Information about the scale of the damage is still being clarified.

According to Suspilne Sumy, residential buildings were seriously damaged by hits in some areas; windows were blown out, roofs and walls damaged. Emergency services were working at the scenes of the consequences of the attack.

The emergency power outage after the strike affected only part of Sumy. The energy company does not specify the exact number of consumers left without power. No information is provided about the estimated time for full restoration of electricity supply.

Sumyoblenergo previously emphasized that during the elimination of the consequences of Russian attacks, the company does not disclose technical details about the condition of the networks and the progress of restoration work, as they may contain sensitive information.
