Hourly power outages to be introduced in parts of Ukraine on October 1

In certain regions of Ukraine on Thursday, October 1, hourly electricity outage schedules will be in effect. Restrictions are planned to be applied in the morning and evening hours.

This was announced on the evening of September 30 by NPC Ukrenergo.

Hourly outages will apply to all categories of consumers. At the same time, specific hours and queues for each region should be published by local distribution system operators — oblenergo.

Ukrenergo warned that the volume and duration of restrictions during the day may change depending on the situation in the power system. Therefore, consumers are advised to follow the latest updates from their operator.

The need for restrictions arose amid another wave of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. On the morning of September 30, Ukrenergo reported new power outages in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy and Kyiv regions, as well as in Kyiv.

During the day, emergency outages were already applied in a number of regions. Power engineers carried out restoration work on damaged facilities and gradually returned consumers to planned schedules where the situation allowed.

Ukrenergo also reminds that the situation in the power system can change quickly, so the final electricity supply regime for October 1 will depend on the state of the grid and the level of consumption.
