A Russian drone struck the Southern Bridge in Kyiv for the third time in a day on the evening of October 1. After the new hit, metro and ground public transport traffic across the bridge was suspended.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported this on Telegram.

According to him, the drone hit the roadway of the Southern Bridge. Emergency services headed to the site. Information about the consequences of the strike and possible casualties is being clarified.

This is the third hit by a Russian drone in the area of the Southern Bridge on October 1. Earlier in the day, Klitschko reported two drone hits near the bridge's support structure.

After the first strikes, metro trains and ground public transport across the bridge were also temporarily stopped. Specialists from the "Kyivavtodormost" municipal utility inspected the structure and, according to preliminary results, found no critical damage.

Later, ground public transport began returning to its regular routes. In particular, buses No. 22 and No. 91 resumed running across the Southern Bridge.

Metro traffic on the green line remained restricted after the daytime attack: trains ran between "Syrets" and "Vydubychi" and between "Osokorky" and "Chervonyi Khutir" while specialists continued inspecting the metro structures on the bridge.

During one of the daytime strikes, a metro train was crossing the bridge. According to the Kyiv City State Administration, around 11:30 dust entered the carriage through the ventilation system due to the blast wave. Passengers and the driver were not injured, and no damage to windows or carriage structures was recorded. The train was sent to the depot for additional inspection.

The attack on the Southern Bridge was part of continued Russian drone strikes on Kyiv on October 1. During the day, hits and falling drone debris were also recorded in other districts of the capital.
