General Staff names the front's most active directions for October 1
Since the beginning of the day on October 1, 173 combat engagements occurred on the front. The most intense fighting continued on the Pokrovsk and Konstantinovka directions.
This is stated in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine update as of 22:00.
According to the General Staff, Russian troops carried out 63 airstrikes today and dropped 187 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy used 3,994 kamikaze drones and carried out 1,844 shelling attacks on populated areas and positions of Ukrainian troops.
The highest intensity of fighting remained on the Pokrovsk direction. Defense forces repelled 24 Russian attacks. Russian troops attempted to advance in the areas of Krasnopillia, Novyi Donbas, Bilytske, Svitly, Vodianske, and Molodetske, and towards Annivka, Dobropillia, Novohrishine, and Sergiivka.
According to a preliminary assessment of the Ukrainian command, 56 Russian servicemen were eliminated on this direction during the day, and another eight were wounded. The destruction of a vehicle, six units of special equipment, a UAV control point, a fuel and lubricants warehouse, and one shelter was also reported. In addition, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed or suppressed 170 Russian drones of various types.
On the Konstantinovka direction, Defense forces repelled 22 assaults in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Novoselivka, Illinivka, Sofiivka, and Volne, and towards Osykove and Hruzke.
On the Slavyansk direction, Russian troops made six attempts to advance near Ozerne, Yampil, and Kryva Luka, and towards Pyskunivka.
On the South Slobozhanskyi direction, five Russian assaults were recorded near Vovchansk and Chaikivka, and towards Mala Vovcha.
On the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled two attempts by Russian troops to advance in the areas of Nadiia, Novoselivka, and Dibrova. As of 22:00, another engagement was ongoing.
On the Orikhiv direction, Defense forces repelled three attacks towards Prymorske; on the Huliapole direction, two assaults were recorded in the Pokrovsk district; and on the Oleksandrivka direction, Ukrainian soldiers stopped one attack in the Ternove area.
On the North Slobozhanskyi, Kupyansk, Kramatorsk, and Prydniprovske directions, no offensive actions by Russian troops were recorded by the time of the evening update.
